Roots Capital is a professional Venture Capital firm, focused on investments in the blockchain industry, especially in thedevelopment of blockchain infrastructure and itsecosystem, as well as the application of blockchain in entertainment and finance.

Founded in 2012, we initially attempted to transform the traditional equity financing advisory business with use of the internet. In 2014, we started to explore the “internetization” of angel investment in the concept of“initial fund investment+following community investment”, and invested in over 40 early-stage projects in the fields of digital entertainment, internet finance and intelligent technology(Big Data,AI,IOTand Blockchain).

Since 2017, Roots Capital focused in on blockchain investment. So far, wehave invested in over 50 blockchain projects and committed to long-term partnerships. Our strong resources are fully integrated in community operation, ecosystem construction, marketing and capital operations.

Ryan
Founding Partner
Ryan has workedin the VC/PE field for fifteen years, serving as Executive Vice President of Zero2IPO Group,as well as Managing Director of Zero2IPO Capital (the Investment Banking Department of Zero2IPO Group), and leada series of financing deals, including SECOO(Nasdaq:SECO), GanJi(acquired by NYSE:WUBA), BaiHe(OC:834214), 6.cn(acquired by SZ:300144) and TianYa(OC:833359). Ryan also participated in the founding ofAmovo Chocolateand CYZone.Since then, Ryan has established an internet platform for financing advisory,“Good Projects”and equity investments,“TouYiShou”, serving as the CEO. These projects received multiple rounds of investment.

Establishing Roots Capital and invested in more than 40 startups, including more than 20 blockchain projects, Ryan received the award“2015 Zhongguancun Outstanding Angel Investor”.

Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree of Economics from Renmin University of China, Majoring in Statistics.

Tom
Managing Partner
Tom has more than 10 years of experience in the VC/PE field. Tom has workedin Zero2IPO Capital,China Everbright Limited and Shanghai GP Capital，and closed nearly 20 equity financing and investment deals totaling nearly RMB 1 billion, coveringthe stage from angel to M&A, and the fields of digital entertainment, internet finance, consumer and cleantech. These included investments in Bilibili (NASDAQ: BILI) andCSEEC (acquired by SZ: 002564).

Joined Roots Capital in 2016, Tom invested nearly 10 blockchain projects and currently focuses on the applicationsof blockchain in the field of entertainment and finance.During the period of Roots Capital, Tom also served as the CFO of TouYiShou, an internet platform for equity investment and financing.

Prior to the career of VC/PE, Tom served in Ernst & Young, and was involved in numerous audit projects of pre-IPO and listed companies.

Tom holds a master’s degree in National Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Investment Economics from Xiamen University.

Kean
Managing Partner
Kean is a serial entrepreneur who has many years of entrepreneurial experience in e-commerce，O2O and other internet industries. In 2016, Kean joined a blockchain technology company to focus on entrepreneurship and investment opportunities in the blockchain field.

Joined Roots Capital in 2017, Kean has invested in more than 10 blockchain related projects.

Prior to joining the Internet/Blockchain industry, Kean served as a Space Electronics Engineer and Mercedes-Benz dealer Director.

Kean holds a master's degree in Vehicle Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology.
